According to Myles Munroe, “Leaders are ordinary people who accept or are placed under extraordinary circumstances that bring forth their latent potential, producing a character that inspires the confidence and trust of others.” True leadership is born out of a guiding vision and a PASSION to accomplish a noble task, and to inspire others to develop and release their potential. It derives its fulfillment from the success of others. The empowerment of a community depends very much on a leader, from within the community, who is capable of showing an achievable mirage for the people and show them the way to reach there. The Dalit community is in dire need of such leaders.

In view of capacity building among the Dalits, a 5-day training on leadership and personality development was held at the administrative office of BDVS in Patna. Children aging from 12-16 from different districts of Bihar participated in the training. The training was designed in such a way that at the end of the training the children were able to express themselves in front of others and become aware of their leadership qualities. Mr. Atwari was the resource person. It is an attempt of BDVS to build human resources at the grass root so as to prepare potential leaders for the Dalit community.
