From November 27 to 29, 2024, an enriching
Advanced Embroidery Training program was held at the Administrative Office in Patna, aimed at empowering Dalit women tailors with specialized skills. This training focused on enhancing their embroidery techniques and improving their craft to support their personal and professional growth.
The training was conducted by two esteemed trainers from USHA company:
Mr. Santosh Kumar and
Mr. Manedranath , who provided expert guidance on advanced embroidery methods. The sessions offered hands-on learning experiences, where participants worked on a variety of stitches and designs, including:

- Colourful Thread Embroidery Techniques
- Decorative Embroidery for Apparel and Home Décor
The primary goal was to equip participants with the necessary skills to advance in their tailoring businesses, enabling them to offer more intricate, high-quality products. Over the course of the event, the women were introduced to diverse techniques such as
floral motifs, geometric designs, and other traditional patterns, which have a high demand in local and international markets.
The program also emphasized
entrepreneurship skills . Attendees were guided on how to market their embroidered products, manage their business, and expand their client base. The practical aspect of the training encouraged them to not only improve their embroidery techniques but also to envision a sustainable future in the handicraft industry.
In addition to skill development, the program provided valuable networking opportunities, where the participants shared experiences and forged lasting connections. The event was not only a learning experience but also a
community-building initiative, where the women supported and encouraged each other.
By the end of the training, the participants had acquired the knowledge and confidence to launch or enhance their own businesses. This initiative is a significant step toward promoting
economic independence and
empowerment, for Dalit women in the region, helping them break barriers and build a better future through the art of embroidery.
